Gear, Gear and More Gear

So now that it is March, are you thinking of cleaning out your garage? Organizing your messy sock drawer? Stop feeling sorry for yourself and consider the winter tasks of the lobster fisherman.Although some of the boats are still out fishing through the winter, all of the lobstermen, actively fishing or not,  face the unending tasks of pulling and repairing hundreds of traps, attending to huge piles of coiled ropes, and painting and repairing buoys. Their livelihood depends on their gear and the amount of gear is daunting to those of us from other walks of life.  Year after year, season after season, bait bags need replacing, 800 new license tags need affixing, warp needs weaving, all in order to be ready to head out again when the waters warm and the “bugs” return to shallower waters.

So, take a peek at these guys and what they are doing this week, and then go attack your sock drawer with a vengeance!
